Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev and the Economy Ministers of the Turkic Council Member and Observer States were received by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ali Asadov on 10 September 2021 in Baku.
The Meeting was attended by H.E. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Akylbek Zhaparov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Dr. Mehmet Muş, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Aziz Voitov, First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and H.E. Peter Sztaray, State Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
On behalf of the delegation, Secretary General briefed the Prime Minister regarding the outcomes of the 10th Meeting of the Ministers in Charge of Economy and discussions on the Trade Facilitation Strategy Paper, Free Trade Agreement in Services and Investments, establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund among other issues.
Secretary General shared the details of the Turkic Business Forum with the Prime Minister devoted to the restoration and development of the liberated Karabakh region of Azerbaijan which is organized with the participation of more than 100 business representatives from the Turkic Council Member and Observer States.
B. Amreyev further informed H.E. Asadov on the preparations of the 8th Summit of the Turkic Council, which will be held in 12 November 2021 in Istanbul.
Prime Minister welcomed the delegation and praised the efforts made by the Secretariat in the last couple of years, as well as the work conducted by the Ministers for developing economic cooperation among the Member and Observer States.
Prime Minister Asadov expressed that stance of the Turkic Council and the Turkic States during the Karabakh war is highly appreciated by Azerbaijan and pointed out the importance of the Turkic Business Forum, as well as support of friendly countries for the restoration of Karabakh region.
During the meeting, Parties discussed the latest developments and cooperation opportunities among the Member and Observer States in the field of economy with the aim to increase trade relations in the region.
