Mr. Jeyhun Shahverdiyev, Project Director of the Turkic Council participated in the course on "UN Catalytic Support to South-South & Triangular Cooperation in Implementing the 2030 Agenda" organized by the United Nations System Staff College Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Development in close cooperation with the UN Office for South-South Cooperation, Islamic Development Bank and the South Centre on 17-19 October 2018 in Bonn, Germany.
During the training, Jeyhun Shahverdiyev provided information to the participants on the activities of the Turkic Council to promote the implementation through demand-driven and tailor-made approach of South-South and Triangular Cooperation for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. He also mentioned that as a first regional organization the Turkic Council and UNOSSC jointly published the Report entitled “South-South in Action: How the Turkic Council uses South-South cooperation to promote regional and global development”.
The training course equipped the participants with key principles, tools and methods needed to comprehend the challenges and opportunities, roles of different actors involved in South-South and Triangular Cooperation and negotiation skills how to mobilize relevant partnerships.
After the 3 days of extensive training and group work on case studies, UN System Staff College and UN Office for South-South Cooperation awarded certificates to participants who successfully completed the course.
