Second Fam Trip of the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package started on 12 May 2017 in Istanbul.
The press conference of the trip with the participation of meeting attendees and members of the press was held by Project Director Pelin Musabay Baki on behalf of Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov at the Istanbul Armada Hotel on the same day.
Objectives in cooperation enhancement among the Turkic States in the field of tourism and transformation of Modern Silk Road into a touristic brand in the region and beyon were discussed at the press conference. The tour, which will last for a total of 14 days, will firstly trace the sites of historical Silk Road in Konya, Aksaray, Cappadocia (Nevşehir), and Kayseri followed by visits to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The current delegation of the second fam trip apart from Turkic Council member states includes tour operator representatives and journalists from United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Singapore.
The project will be supported by Prime Ministry Promotion Fund of the Republic of Turkey, while the main transportation sponsor will be Turkish Airlines. Air Astana and Azerbaijan Airlines will also take place among the sponsors.
The sales of the said joint tour package will be launched with an official start by the ministers at the 4th Meeting of the Turkic Council Tourism Ministers to be held on the margins of Astana Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan at the end of June. The first commercial tour is planned to be realized in 2018 in Nawruz.
