Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Baghdad Amreyev took part via videoconference in the 5th meeting of the Academic Council of the International Turkic Academy.
The meeting took place offline in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan) on 24 June 2022, moderated by President of the Turkic Academy Darhan Qydyrali and attended by Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullaev, Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Beishenaliev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan Saidikram Niyazhodjaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan Agalar Atamoglanov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Kazakhstan Dastan Dushekeev, Member of the OTS Council of Elders Ikram Adyrbekov, Ambassador of Hungary to Kazakhstan Otto Ivan Rona and diplomats of the Turkish Embassy.
Within his opening remarks the Secretary General Amreyev stated that education and science are one of the most important areas of multifaceted cooperation of the Organization, and in the "OTS Strategy 2022-2026" for the implementation of the “Turkic Vision - 2040” adopted by Heads of States during the last Istanbul summit.
Describing science and education as an important bridge in promoting and reinforcing common consciousness around a common language, history and cultural values among the younger generations of the Turkic World, B. Amreyev underlined the importance of the tasks, given by the Heads of State for the preparation of textbooks for the youth of the Member States on "Common Turkic History", "Common Turkic Literature" and "Geography of the Turkic World".
He expressed in this regard his satisfaction on the job done by the Turkic Academy in this regard. On the occasion of the completion of Darhan Qydyrali’s term as the President of the Turkic Academy, Secretary General Amreyev expressed his gratitude for his contributions to the institutional establishment of the Turkic Academy as well as his valuable efforts for the unity of the Turkic World.
As the main results of the meeting the Parties welcomed the Observer Status of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Academy and adopted the programs as well as texts of common textbooks the "Common Turkic History", "Common Turkic Literature" and "Geography of the Turkic World" subjects, that will be taught in secondary schools of their countries as an elective discipline as well as organize various events, including educational competitions.
