Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov paid an official visit to Doha to meet with the President of the ICSS Mr. Muhammed Hanzab on 17-18 May 2016.

On the margins of his official visit, Secretary General Hasanov met with the Minister of Culture and Sport of Qatar Salah Bin Ghanim Al Ali on 17 May 2016. Secretary General Hasanov provided the Minister with information on the Turkic Council and its activities, with a special reference to the Council’s Youth and Sports agenda.

Secretary General Hasanov expressed that Turkic Council Member States would like to see Qatar join the projects undertaken by the Turkic Council in the field of Youth and Sports. On this note, Secretary General invited the Minister to the opening ceremony of the Second World Nomad Games to be held on 3-8 September 2016 in Kyrgyzstan. He further invited Qatar to participate in Second World Nomad Games, Youth Festivals and Camps as well as University Sports Games due to be organized by the Turkic Council in the upcoming period.

Minister of Culture and Sports of Qatar Salah Bin Ghanim Al Ali expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and reassured Qatar’s involvement in every Youth and Sport activity to be held by the Turkic Council. He also underscored the importance of National Games and Youth activities in building up the identity of the young generation and extended his best wishes to the Council in its future undertakings.
