H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) attended the opening session of the OTS-WHO Leadership in Health Emergencies training course together with Dr. Hans Kluge, Head of the European Office of WHO on 6 May 2024 in Istanbul.
Secretary General Omuraliev underlined that the program is the joint work of the OTS and WHO, as the first training towards the health professionals from the OTS Member States and both organizations will continue to collaborate in the field of health in the upcoming period.
Dr Kluge emphasized that the training program is the concrete outcome of the cooperation between the OTS and WHO and they give utmost importance to the continuation of similar programs between the both organizations.
The training course is being held with the participation of almost 30 health professionals from the Member States of the OTS which includes 12 hours online courses and 5 days in-person workshop aims to develop the leadership skills of the trainees in health emergency situations.
The program is jointly organized by the OTS and WHO, based on the Action Plan signed by Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev and Dr Hans Kluge in Copenhagen on 28 October 2023.
