Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia, Ms. Terhi Hakala on the margins of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on 10 March 2022 by the initiative of the EU side.
Secretary General Amreyev and Special Representative Hakala discussed the latest political developments in the region, particularly in Ukraine, as well as the economic implications and repercussions of the military conflict on the OTS Member States.
Parties raised their deep concerns regarding the increasing flow of refugees from Ukraine to the OTS Member States and to the Europe.
EU Special Representative for Central Asia stated that they are following the activities of the OTS closely and will explore the avenues for the prospective cooperation opportunities.
Secretary General expressed the readiness of the OTS to establish and develop relations with the EU in different spheres of cooperation.
During the meeting, Parties also exchanged views on the issues high on the regional and global agenda.
