Secretary General met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan
Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mukhtar Tleuberdi on 31 January 2022 in Nur-Sultan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current cooperation agenda of the Organization of Turkic States in light of the decisions taken at the 8th Summit of the Organization held on 12 November 2021 in Istanbul.
Secretary General and Deputy Prime Minister exchanged views on the implementation of the strategic document "Turkic Vision-2040" adopted at the Istanbul Summit with an emphasis on strengthening the economic activities of the Organization. In this regard, H.E. Tleuberdi highlighted the need to accelerate the work on the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund in line with the decision taken at the last Summit and expressed conviction that this financial mechanism would serve as strong support for SMEs and give impetus to the further development of trade and economic relations among the Member States of the OTS.
The Secretary General reiterated his gratification over the great contribution of Kazakhstan as the founding member and the initiator of establishment the Organization, and expressed the hope that Kazakhstan would continue to take an active part and promote the further work for strengthening potential of the Organization of Turkic States.
Further, the parties exchanged views on joint actions to develop multifaceted cooperation within the framework of the OTS for the coming period.
Secretary General and Deputy Prime Minister also discussed certain issues of mutual interest that are on the current global and international agenda.
