Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan H.E. Jamshid Khodjaev on 25 October 2022 in Tashkent.
Secretary General and Deputy Prime Minister exchanged views on the preparations for the upcoming OTS Summit to be held in November 2022 in Samarkand and the Meeting of Ministers in charge of Economy of the Member and Observer States to be convened on the eve of the Summit.
Emphasizing that the forthcoming Summit would mark a great step forward towards further strengthening multifaceted cooperation among the Turkic States, B.Amreyev and J.Khodjaev underlined the need to enrich the agenda of the Summit with important decisions aimed at further enhancement of trade and economic relations within the Turkic world.
Secretary General and Deputy Prime Minister held detailed discussions on the trade and economic agenda of the OTS, including the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), developing legal basis for promoting e-commerce, and signing the Free Trade Agreement on Services and Investments as well as establishing the “TURANSEZ” Special Economic Zone, the Research Center for Trade Cooperation and the Engineering and Technologies Centers of the OTS.
The Parties also touched upon various topics of multilateral cooperation outlining the further steps to strengthen and encourage investment, intra trade, and economic cooperation within the Organization.
