Secretary General met with the newly appointed Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek on 16 June 2022 in Nur-Sultan.
Secretary General Amreyev congratulated Minister Nurbek on his new post and emphasized that the OTS attaches great importance to the cooperation in the field of science and education considering that these areas are the driving force for the social change, economic development and welfare in the Member States.
Welcoming the OTS delegation, the Minister highlighted the significant efforts of the Secretariat in strengthening the multilateral scientific cooperation among the Turkic states and expressed his full support for further enhancing the role of education as an important instrument in promoting and reinforcing common consciousness around a common language, history and cultural values among the younger generations of the Turkic world.
During the meeting, the Secretary General and the Minister had discussions and exchanged views on the pressing issues of the current agenda of the OTS as well as ongoing projects and programs, including the Orkhun Exchange Program of the Turkic University Union (TÜRKÜNİB), Common Turkic History, Geography and Literature Textbooks, the Student Exchange Program and University Sports Games (Turkic Universiade) to be held in Kazakhstan in the coming period.
