Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Karin on 31 January 2022 in Nur-Sultan.
At the meeting, the Secretary General informed the Secretary of State the latest developments in the activities of the Organization of Turkic States and the important decisions taken at the 8th Istanbul Summit held on 12 November 2021, as well the future cooperation perspectives of the Organization.
The Secretary General also shared his vision on the prospects for strengthening and expanding cooperation between the Turkic countries in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Stressing the unique role of Kazakhstan in establishing and developing cooperation within the OTS, B. Amreyev expressed gratitude to the leadership of Kazakhstan for their invaluable contributions to the successes of the Organization since its establishment.
The Secretary of State noted the dynamic development and wide coverage of the activities of the Organization of Turkic States and stressed that Kazakhstan would continue its contribution to the efforts of the Secretariat to develop multilateral cooperation within the Organization.
The Secretary of State, who is also in charge of coordinating the work of public analytical structures of Kazakhstan, also highlighted the need to strengthen the coordination by the Organization of Turkic States of the activities of the Member States' strategic research centres for in-depth analysis and an adequate assessment of the situation in the region and the world believing that their research efforts directly contribute not only to the enhancement of cooperation processes among the Member and Observer States within the region but also leverage the global collaboration.
Parties also exchanged views on certain issues of common interest that are on the current global and international agenda.
