Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Jeyhun Bayramov on 26 May 2022 in Baku.

Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev briefed Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov about the recent activities of OTS, in particular the events and meetings conducted in Azerbaijan. He especially stressed his satisfaction of the meeting with President of Azerbaijan H.E. Ilham Aliyev and fruitful discussions on pressing issues of the OTS agenda.

Recalling that Shusha was declared the Capital of Culture of the Turkic World in 2023, the Secretary General informed about various events to be organized in Shusha in this regard. He also referred to the selection of Shamakhi city as the “Tourism Capital of the Turkic World” by the Organization of Turkic States for 2023, which will contribute to the development of cooperation between the countries of the Organization of Turkic States in the field of tourism.

Mentioning about “TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan” Festival and importance of strengthening close cooperation in ICT among the Member States B.Amreyev significance of forthcoming meeting of the Ministers of Information and High Technologies of the OTS.

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov touched upon the rich agenda of the Organization of Turkic States and noted with satisfaction the intensive dialogue in this regard. He stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in bilateral and multilateral cooperation under the auspices of the Organization of Turkic States.

The Parties also exchanged their views on current political and economic situation in Eurasian region and further activities carried out by the Organization of Turkic States in various areas. Minister Bayramov expressed its continued support for the strengthening and deepening of cooperation within the Organization.
