Secretary General met with the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe
Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Baghdad Amreyev held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) H.E. Helga Maria Schmid on the margins of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on 11 March 2022 upon the initiative of the OSCE side.
At the meeting, Parties exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, particularly in Ukraine, repercussions of the sanctions posed by the Western countries, its economic implications as well as reflections in the regional and international level.
Secretary Generals of the both Organizations also raised their concerns on the security and refugee dimension in regard to the military situation in Ukraine and possible ways in relieving the negative effects to the OTS Member States and to the region.
Secretary General Schmid noted that the OSCE is following the activities of the OTS as well as developments in the region and is going to consider new prospects for further empowering cooperation between two Organizations.
Secretary General Amreyev briefed his counterpart on the latest developments within the Turkic world and expressed the readiness of the OTS to develop institutional relations with the OSCE and its Member States in various fields of interaction.
The parties further exchanged views on the relevant security issues high on the regional and global agenda.
