The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev held a meeting with the Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairbek Uskenbayev on 10 May 2022 in Ankara, on the margins of the official visit of His Excellency President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Türkiye.
Secretary General highlighted the active and important role Kazakhstan plays in strengthening multifaceted cooperation in the Turkic world.
He shared with the Minister information on the ongoing undertakings of OTS aimed at raising the efficiency of the International Transcaspian Corridor in line with decisions taken by the Presidents of the Turkic States during the Istanbul Summit.
In this vein Baghdad Amreyev called Kairbek Uskenbayev to align all efforts upon agreeing and signing the International Combined Freight Transport Agreement among the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States.
Minister Uskenbayev informed the Secretary General about the ongoing activities on creation of the Turan Special Economic Zone (TURANSEZ) in Turkistan. In accordance with the request of the OTS Member States, a field trip to the TURANSEZ by the interested parties of the Member States is going to take place in the first half of 2022.
In the context of discussing the digitization of common transport and transit infrastructure issues, such as eTIR, ePermit and eCMR, the sides also exchanged their views on the agendas of the upcoming high level meetings.
