Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha on 17 January 2022 in Jeddah.
Secretary General B. Amreyev conveyed his sincere congratulations to Hissein Brahim Taha for his appointment to the position of Secretary General OIC and his very best wishes for the continued success in his endeavors in this highest diplomatic position of the Islamic World.
OIC Secretary General welcomed OTS Secretary General and expressed hope that his visit to OIC headquarter will further strengthen the relations between the two sister organizations.
Hissein Brahim Taha and Baghdad Amreyev exchanged views on the current agendas of their respective organizations and noted that OIC and OTS, whose all member are concurrently the members of the OIC can establish an enhanced partnership in order to strengthen peace, stability and development in the Islamic World.
They emphasized that the two organizations can promote a wide-range cooperation and jointly serve for advancing international cooperation both in the Eurasian continent and in the Islamic world, particularly in Europe, Central Asia and Caucuses.
The heads of OTS and OIC underlined the need for upgrading the level of cooperation between OTS and OIC and agreed to take steps toward boosting the legal framework of relations between the two organizations.
Parties also exchanged views on a number of international, Islamic and regional matters of mutual interest.
