On June 9, 2022, in Bishkek, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the OTS met with H.E. Erkinbek Osoev, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Secretary General Amreyev and Minister Osoev exchanged views on the issues of enhanced opportunities along the routes connecting Central Asia with Europe, particularly Trans-Caspian Corridor, possibility of holding a Forum on transportation issues, upcoming meeting of the Ministers of Transport, concluding the Agreement on International Combined Freight Transport, digitalization of transport relations with "e - TIR", "e - Permit", "e - CMR", as well as cooperation in the field of railway communication and civil aviation.
In particular, the importance of opening flights of low cost airlines not only between capitals but also between other major cities of the OTS member states was underlined. It was noted that such measures will ensure a greater exchange of tourists, capital and investments, which in turn will become another impetus for the sustainable development of the economies of our countries.
Baghdad Amreyev stressed the importance of strengthening transport cooperation, as well as turning the Trans-Caspian corridor into an effective, seamless and sustainable route in East-West trade and called the Ministry of transport and comunications of the Kyrgyz Republic to take necessary measures to this end.
At the same time, parties agreed to intensify work with the Member States towards finalization of the draft Agreement on International Combined Freight Transport for signature.
