The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev was received by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on 20 December 2022 in Astana.
Taking into account that Kazakhstan, along with being one of the founding Member States, initiated the establishment of the Organization, President Tokayev noted that the Kazakh side is interested in deepening the multilateral cooperation with the Turkic States.
It was also stated that the Organization’s role as a unique platform for strengthening the cooperation and unity of the Turkic peoples has grown significantly, considering that many countries of the world and international organizations are expressing their intention to develop trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian ties with the OTS.
In this regard, the President of Kazakhstan underlined that the Secretariat has been tasked to carry out effectively the priorities and initiatives adopted at the 9th Summit of the OTS in Samarkand.
Having thanked for the support, Ambassador Omuraliev informed that the Secretariat has already started working on President Tokayev’s initiatives, voiced at the said summit, including on the Permanent Representatives to the Organization, establishing the Digital Transport System and the Venture Fund of Turkic States, the Digital Transformation Center of the Organization of Turkic States, the Turkic Green Finance Council at the premises of the Astana International Financial Center, forming the Joint network of universities of the Turkic countries as well as developing a roadmap for studying the common written heritage of the Turkic peoples.
Within reporting on implementation of the instruction regarding the institutional reforms of the Turkic cooperation organizations, Ambassador Omuraliev also shared that the meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations would be held on 20 January 2023.
