Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov gave an interview to one of the leading newspapers of Kazakhstan “Egemen Kazakhstan”.
In his interview, Secretary General Hasanov touched upon recent constitutional amendments in the country emphasizing the role of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the establishment and development of the republic.
He also gave information about the Turkic Council placing emphasis on recent successes of organization in different fields of cooperation and Council’s relations with other international organizations, especially the UN and its specialized bodies.
Reminding that the Turkic Council is the first voluntary union of Turkic States in history, Ambassador Hasanov reported on the special role of Kazakhstan in the activities of the organization. In this regard, he reiterated that the Turkic Council and other international organizations were established with the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Finally, he briefed on the Astana Process aimed at contributing to the resolution of Syrian crisis underlining country’s role as a mediator in improving relations among other states in the region and informing about its peace-building activities.
