Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov participated in the reception organized within the context of “Sports Integrity Global Alliance” (SIGA) General Assembly meeting by International Center for Sports Security (ICSS) on 14 June 2016 in Paris.
During the reception attended by various countries and specialized international organizations, participants discussed the importance of increasing the unifying force of sport, of creating the level playing field in sports, ensuring equal opportunities in sports activities, the role of sports in combating radicalization as well as preventing corruption.
The McCain Institute, Singapore Government, Senate of Brazil and the International Lawyers Union was included in the SIGA coalition by signing the SIGA Statement of Intent at the signing ceremony held in the reception. On behalf of the McCain Institute, Statement of Intent was signed by US Senator McCain`s wife Cindy McCain, who was the presidential candidate of the Republican Party in the US presidential elections in 2008.
Within the context of the reception, Secretary General Hasanov held bilateral meetings with ICSS President Mohammed Hanzab as well as other senior ICSS officials, with Cindy McCain and Khoo Boon Hui, former President of Interpol and consultant of Prime Minister of Singapore responsible for the Interior Affairs. Secretary General Hasanov gave information to his counterparts about the activities of the Turkic Council in the field of youth and sports.
