Within the framework of his visits in Washington DC, Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, paid a visit to the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Washington DC, Serdar Kılıç, on 27 September 2017.
Secretary General Hasanov conveyed detailed information to Ambassador Kılıç about the activities of the Turkic Council, with a specific reference to the ongoing transport projects along the Trans-Caspian corridor, Turkic Council Joint Tourism Tour Package, as well as the cooperation with the UN bodies such as UNDP, UNOSSC, UNAOC and Turkic Council’s observer status bid in the UN General Assembly.
Ambassador Kılıç expressed his readiness to support the promotion of the Turkic Council Silk Road Joint Tourism Tour Package in Washington and New York. He further underlined that necessary steps should be taken to utilize Nowruz as the common historical and cultural heritage of all Turkic Speaking States in order to demonstrate our shared values to the world. Both sides also elaborated the prospective enlargement of the Council with new members in the near future and Hungary`s official application to obtain observer status at the Turkic Academy.
Secretary General Hasanov informed Ambassador Kılıç about the Global South-South Development Expo (GSSD Expo) which will be organized by the UNOSSC and be hosted by the Republic of Turkey on 27-30 November 2017 in Antalya.
Taking the opportunity, Secretary General Hasanov extended his appreciation to Ambassador Kılıç for Turkey’s unwavering support to the work of Turkic Council at all times.
Turkic Council Project Directors Ali Çiviler, Assan Mazhitov and Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied Secretary General Hasanov during the meeting.
