Secretary General of Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev attended the 3rd Meeting of the Scientific Council of the Turkic Academy held on January 30, in Baku.
During the session, the duties of the Chairmanship of Scientific Council of the Turkic Academy officially transferred to the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov and the President of Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali reported to the participants on the Academy’s activities in 2019 and presented the Action Plan for 2020.
Secretary General of Turkic Council B.Amreyev emphasized in his speech the importance of education and science on the agenda of the Turkic Council and noted the concrete projects and efforts of the Secretariat in this field.
B.Amreyev referred to the decisions of the 7th Summit of the Turkic Council had taken place in Baku on 15th October 2019, during which the Heads of States supported the enlargement of the “Orkhun Exchange Program”, as well as increasing the number of students and academics involved in the processes of “Educational Exchange Program” for education professionals of the Member States and “3rd Student Exchange Program” among secondary/high schools of the Member States.
Secretary General B.Amreyev expressed his hope for the outcomes of the Scientific Council meeting to further contribute to the cooperation in the education field among the Member States.
In Baku, Secretary General B.Amreyev also attended and made a speech at the opening ceremony of the “Year of Abay” in Baku State University. In his speech, the Secretary General highlighted the significance of the legacy of the great poet, philosopher, statesman, composer and founder of modern Kazakh literature Abay Kunanbayev in the Turkic World, and briefed participants on the events and activities of Turkic Council and its affiliated bodies and organizations dedicated to the year of Abay.
Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev was accompanied by Project Director Mr. Farrukh Jumayev.
