Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev attended the 36th Meeting of Permanent Council of International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) with the participation of Ministers of Culture of the Turkic Council Member States and Closing Ceremony of Kastamonu 2018 – Cultural Capital of Turkic World held on 18 December 2018 in Kastamonu.
36th Meeting of Permanent Council of TURKSOY hosted by Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Secretary General of TURKSOY Duisen Kaseinov was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakytbek Sekimov, Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursahet Shirimov, Representative of Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan Gunay Aliyeva, Secretary General of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking States (TURKPA) Altynbek Mamayusupov, President of Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali, as well as representatives of Ministries of Culture of Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia (Moldova) and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mayor and Governor of the Kastamonu.
Secretary General Amreyev addressing the Opening Session of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY said that the “Cultural Capital of Turkic World” initiative of TURKSOY played a significant role in promoting the cultural and artistic elements of the Turkic people to the world. He also noted that this effort was instrumental in increasing the awareness towards the commonalities among our peoples.
Moreover, he underlined the instructions related to the cultural cooperation given by Presidents at the 6th Summit of the Turkic Council held on 3 September 2018 in Cholpon-Ata. Particularly, developing special projects under the patronage of the Turkic Council “100 People of the Turkic World” and “Holy Places of the Turkic World”. He highlighted that Presidents also drew attention to the importance of organizing scientific conferences, seminars, and expeditions to unique historical places of the Turkic world in order to raise generations having awareness on our common historical and cultural background.
Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev was awarded during the 36th Meeting of Permanent Council by TURKSOY Secretary General Duisen Kaseinov with the TURKSOY 25th-anniversary medal.
Secretary General Amreyev took part in the Official Closing Ceremony of Kastamonu 2018 – Cultural Capital of Turkic World held on 18 November in Kastamonu, as Osh city of Kyrgyzstan was announced as Cultural Capital of Turkic World in 2019.
Project Director Assan Mazhitov accompanied Secretary General Amreyev at the meeting.
