Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev received the Regional Partnership Adviser of United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Mr. Mehmet Köse on 21 April 2021 at the Secretariat of the Turkic Council in Istanbul.
During the meeting, Regional Partnership Adviser Mr. Mehmet Köse gave detailed information on the current situation of Palestine Refugees in the region, as well as human development and humanitarian services that encompass primary and vocational education, primary health care and relief and social services. He also briefed Secretary General on the contributions that the Turkic Council member countries, particularly Turkey, have been providing to UNRWA’s work in support of Palestine refugees.
Parties discussed in detail cooperation opportunities between UNRWA and Turkic Council –Turkic Council member countries as well as potential joint programs in the field of humanitarian assistance.
