By invitation of the Ambassador of Singapore to the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mr. Jonathan Tow, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev participated in the Singapore Business Council meeting held on 29 May 2023 in Istanbul.
During his speech at the meeting, Secretary General provided a brief overview of the Organization's history and structure, as well as shared the current economic agenda and ongoing activities of the Organization in boosting trade relations between its Member States and Observers.
Expressing the interest of OTS in developing cooperation with South East Asian countries, including Singapore, as an active member of ASEAN, the Secretary General Omuraliev highlighted opportunities for collaboration with the Singapore, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, industry and transfer of innovation and technology.
He also pointed out the importance of exchange best practices, experiences, and knowledge between the OTS and Singapore, as well as the possibility of organizing joint trade missions, exhibitions, and business forums in close partnership with Union of Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Singapore Business Council commended the Secretary General for his valuable insights and efforts in advancing the agenda of sustainable economic growth. Underscoring the high and dynamic economic potential of the OTS region the Council members expressed their interest in strengthening ties and cooperation with OTS business community.
The Parties expressed their commitment to continued collaboration and agreed to explore concrete measures to promote B2B communication platform.
