As decided at the 9th Customs Working Group Meeting of the Turkic Council held on 29 April 2018 in Istanbul, Parties discussed the technical compatibility of the customs administrations on preliminary information exchange on the goods and the means of transport moved through Turkic Council Member States. IT experts exchanged information on the IT infrastructure and expressed that once an agreement is reached, technical systems used in the customs of the Member States permit preliminary information exchange in terms of infrastructure and data exchange methods.
Additionally, Parties exchanged views on the final details of the Memorandum of Understanding on Customs Enforcement planned to be concluded at the upcoming Turkic Council meeting of Heads of Customs Administrations of the Member States and the feasibility of organizing new field visits under Caravanserai Project.
Turkic Council Project Directors Farid Damirli and Özge Pan participated in the meeting and consulted the delegations of Member States on specific details of the subjects negotiated.
