The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Jeyhun Bayramov and the Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E. Baghdad Amreyev held a telephone conversation on 18 October 2020
The Minister informed the Secretary General on the latest developments around the conflict zone and stressed the violation of humanitarian ceasefire by the armed forces of Armenia for the second time after the formal declaration of the truce. He noted that intensive shelling of the Azerbaijani positions and an attempt to attack in the directions of Fuzuli, Jabrayil and Hadrut regions openly demonstrates that Armenia is ignorant to the ceasefire and aims to regain the positions in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
The Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev expressed once again the solidarity of the Turkic Council with Azerbaijan and the support of the legitimate fight of Azerbaijani people for the liberation of its occupied territories in accordance to the norms and principles of international law. He condemned the recent attacks on the cities and civil infrastructure of Azerbaijan situated far away from the conflict zone by Armenia.
Parties also exchanged views on number of pressing topics of international and regional politics
