The 1st Meeting of the Heads of Defense Industry Institutions of the Organization of Turkic States was held on 23 July 2025 in Istanbul, on the margins of the 17th International Defense Industry Fair.

The Meeting was hosted by H.E. Haluk Görgün, Secretary of Defence Industry of the Republic of Türkiye and attended by H.E. Vugar Mustafayev, Minister of Defence Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Yersain Nagaspayev, Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Azizbek Baibalaev, Acting Deputy Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mansurjon Ibodullaev, Director of Defense Industry Agency under the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS.

 At the Meeting, during his speech, Secretary General of the OTS mentioned the importance of establishing a new platform of cooperation among the OTS countries in the field of defense industry, and emphasized that taking into consideration the significance of this area, the cooperation among the relevant institutions will additionally contribute to the security of the OTS countries.  Secretary General also highlighted that according to the relevant declarations of the Heads of State of the OTS, this new platform of cooperation was established.   

The Heads of delegations informed on the defense industry strategies of their countries, as well as ongoing bilateral cooperation between the Institutions. In this respect, they highlighted the importance of merging efforts in a multilateral format within the OTS framework.
