The 2nd General Assembly of the Women Entrepreneurs Committee (WEC) of the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) and Business Forum b2b Networking Event was held on 18 April 2024 in Istanbul.
The General Assembly started with the statements of the Heads of Delegations of TCCI Women Entrepreneurs Committee who participated in the meeting. They welcomed a representative from Turkmenistan which became a full member of the TCCI a few weeks ago.
Then Mrs. Sakina Babayeva, the first President of WEC presented the report on the activities of the Committee during the Azerbaijan chairmanship. The Parties exchanged views and discussed the future plan of activities of the WEC, as well as the date and place of the next General Assembly.
By WEC General Assembly decision and alphabetical rotation, Mrs. Lazzat Ramazanova of the Republic of Kazakhstan was elected WEC TCCI President for the next two years.
The 2nd Business Forum of Women Entrepreneurs Committee, which was organized after the General Assembly, was opened by Mr. Şekib Avdagiç, President of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce/Vice President of TOBB and keynote speeches were delivered by Mr. Rifat Hisarciklioğlu, President of Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry and President of TOBB and Mr. Merey Mukazhan, Deputy Secretary General of Organization of Turkic States.
In his speech at the Business Forum, Deputy Secretary General M. Mukazhan emphasized the key role of women entrepreneurs in the Turkic States in shaping the future of nations, briefed on the activities and new mechanisms of OTS and TCCI to support women entrepreneurs, and shared his views on further cooperation in this direction.
The Parties agreed to continue their efforts to break down barriers and create a better environment for women entrepreneurs in the Turkic region.
The next 3rd General Assembly of the WEC will take place in mid-October 2025 in Astana.
