The 7th Meeting of the Turkic Council Working Group on Tourism Cooperation was hosted by South Kazakhstan Tourism Center with the participation of representatives of the Ministries of Tourism of the Member States as well as tour operators which will take part in the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package project on 23 March 2016 in Chimkent. During the meeting implementation of said Tour Package was discussed in detail. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed regarding establishment of a consortium among the tour operators which will take place in the implementation of Joint Tour Package. Thus, an important progress towards the implementation of the Joint Tour Package has been covered.
Apart from that, tour operators also discussed vocational training programs in the field of tourism planned by Turkey for 2016, issues regarding the 3rd Meeting of the Ministers of Tourism to be held in June 2016 in Kyrgyzstan, the Silk Road photo exhibition to be organized in this context as well as the signing of the document regarding ‘ethical codes’ which is an initiative of UN World Tourism Organization. Furthermore Deputy Secretary General Abzal Saparbekuly gave information about the promotion activities of the Joint Tour Package due to take place this April in Barcelona.
After the meeting, Deputy Secretary General Saparbekuly had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Tuyakbayev Saparbek, Deputy Governor of South Kazakhstan Region and they discussed future possible projects to be realized in cooperation.
