The Closing ceremony of Turkic Council First University Sports Games, organized in Baku between 5-10 April 2018, was held on 9 April 2018 with the participation of the Members of the Turkic Council Secretariat headed by Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman, officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, sportsmen and Presidents of University Sports Federations of the Turkic Council Member States.
At the closing ceremony, the scenes and performances of common history, civilization and cultural heritage were staged.
Organized in 7 different sports branches, approximately 400 university athletes and coaches from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey attended the event. The games were broadcasted live by Azerbaijan Sports Channel.
Turkic Council University Sports Games, which is organized within the framework of the instructions of Heads of States of the Turkic Council, will be held every two years with wide participation from the Turkic world.
At the closing ceremony, Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman, Project Director Ali Çiviler, Deputy Chief of Protocol Araz Salmanov and Research Expert Dastan Almen were present.
