The Closing Ceremony of the “Lankaran – Youth Capital of the Turkic World” was held on 12 June 2025 in Lankaran, the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Closing Ceremony was attended by delegations from the Member States and Observers, as well as the representatives of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Secretariat.
On behalf of the OTS Secretariat, Sadi Jafarov, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS, expressed his appreciation to the Azerbaijani side for hosting the event and for the successful conclusion of Lankaran’s term as the Youth Capital of the Turkic World 2024.
Deputy Secretary General also announced that, in accordance with the decision of the 8th Meeting of the Ministers of Youth and Sports of the OTS, held in September 2024, the city of Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, has been selected as the Youth Capital of the Turkic World for 2025.
In this regard, a symbolic handover ceremony was held during the event, formally transferring the title of Youth Capital from Lankaran to Almaty.
Within the framework of the event, the Azerbaijani side also hosted the 3rd Youth Volunteering Educational Program, which emphasized the crucial role of youth across the Turkic World. The program is aimed at empowering young participants through comprehensive training in leadership, project management, and intercultural communication.
