July 9 is a remarkable day in Azerbaijan and celebrated as a professional holiday of diplomatic service employees of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan from August 24, 2007. This is a day of honoring the role of national diplomacy in founding the first Democratic Republic in the Muslim World and in the East in 1918, as well as in the establishment process of an independent Azerbaijani state in the modern era.
This day marks also Azerbaijani diplomats’ efforts to address current challenges with continuity, respect for the memory of its predecessors and the preservation of Centennial long traditions of Azerbaijani diplomacy, which has always served to its motherland, to international peace and security and renowned for its high professionalism and constructive approaches to the pressing issues.
On this meaningful day marking the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic service of Azerbaijan, I would like to cordially congratulate all diplomatic service personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, former diplomats and their families on this holiday.
I am proud that many of them are my friends with whom I used to work in different periods and various international occasions. Having this opportunity, I wish them every success and all the best in their efforts in maintaining international peace and security and in promoting Azerbaijan as well as Turkic World’s interests in international arena.
