The delegation of the Turkic Council headed by Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov participated in the 8th UNWTO Silk Road Ministerial Meeting that took place on 7 March 2018 in Berlin in the framework of the ITB. During the Meeting the Ministers discussed what the Silk Road tourism should be like by 2025.
At his address Numan Kurtulmuş, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, mentioned about the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package and its generous potential to empower the Silk Road tourism. He also underlined the examplairy nature of this project for joint destinations along this historical root. He further noted that his Ministry traineed more than 1000 tourism employees of the Turkic Council other member states on the service sector. Accordingly, he highlighted the importance of this kind of vocational trainings to prepare the Silk Road for the future.
On the margins of the Ministerial Meeting, Secretary General Hasanov had bilateral talks with participating heads of delegations.
Deputy Secretary General Ömer Kocaman, Project Directors Pelin Musabay Baki and Zhanar Nugumanova as well as Araz Salmanov, Acting Chief of Protocol accompanied Secretary General Hasanov at the meeting.
