The delegation of the Turkic Council met with the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The Turkic Council delegation, which came with an official mission to observe the Presidential Elections of Azerbaijan, met with the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva on 10 April 2018 in Baku.

In the course of the meeting, the parties exchanged their view on the First Turkic Council University Sports Games (5-10 April 2018) and the scope of the Turkic Council International Observer Mission with its activities in Baku and Sheki. In particular, Deputy Secretary General Kocaman reported on the outcomes of the Mission’s visit to Guba and the meeting of the delegation with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan.

President of the Foundation Afandiyeva gave information about the various projects and measures implemented by the organization and aimed at promoting the common cultural values of the Turkic World.

The parties also stressed the need to coordinate the follow-up activities of the brotherly organizations and support the each other’s efforts in achieving the common goals. In addition to this, issues of common interest such as the upcoming Summit of the Turkic Council, the prospective projects of the Foundation in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey and the need to coordinate the efforts within the UNESCO were discussed at the assembly.

Ambassador Metin Kılıç, Project Directors Ali Çiviler and Zhanar Nugumanova, Acting Chief of Protocol Araz Salmanov and Research Expert Dastan Almen were also present at the meeting.
