The Fifth Meeting of the Ministers of Customs of the Turkic Council was convened on 3rd of June 2016 in Baku with participation of Mr. Aydin Aliyev, Chairman of State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Mr. Gosman Amrin, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Mr. Azamat Sulaymanov, Chairman of the State Customs Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and Mr. Remzi Akçin, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Customs and Trade of the Republic of Turkey.
 
The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov opened and moderated the meeting. In his opening speech Ambassador Hasanov thanked the Azerbaijani side for hosting the meetings and appreciated active participation and contribution of other Member States. Ambassador Hasanov then gave the floor to Mr. Aydin Aliyev to deliver his remarks. The meeting continued with opening remarks of other heads of delegations.
 
Following the adoption of the agenda, the participants discussed the important topics in customs cooperation and reviewed the works of the Working Group. They have also welcomed the starting of the evaluation process of the multilateral protocol proposed by Azerbaijan regarding cooperation for preliminary information sharing to facilitate and accelerate customs procedures among the Member States.
 
The Project Directors Farid Damirli, Yedil Myrzakhanov and Mehmet Şefik Yurtçiçek and Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul were also present at the said meeting.
