The First Turkic Ski Cup took place on 18 February 2025 at Amirsoy Resort, marking a significant milestone in the promotion of winter sports across the Turkic world.
This event was jointly organized under the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) by the founding members of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts, including Amirsoy (Uzbekistan), Shahdag (Azerbaijan), Shymbulak (Kazakhstan), and Uludağ (Türkiye).
The OTS Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev delivered a welcoming speech during the opening ceremony of the event. He highlighted that the idea for this tournament was born in September 2024 in Istanbul, where the Heads of Turkic Ski Resorts signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts to promote ski tourism, share expertise, and organize joint events.
This initiative has been welcomed at the highest level by the Heads of State in the Bishkek Declaration of the OTS Summit.
The Turkic Ski Cup served as a platform to showcase athletic excellence, enhance regional unity, and highlighted the growing potential of ski tourism in OTS Member States.
By bringing together over 50 winter sports enthusiasts from the Member States, the event is set to become an annual tradition, further solidifying the region’s place on the global winter sports map.
