The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Republic of Türkiye H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, is appointed as the new Secretary General of the OTS Secretariat by the Council of Heads of State during the momentous Summit of the Organization held on 11 November 2022 in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).
Ambassador Omuraliev served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic in Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Türkiye and Israel, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Commonwealth of Independent States, and has held leadership positions at various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state and public structures.
Throughout his career, Ambassador Omuraliev has undertaken innovative and visionary efforts linking his background with his diplomatic experience and has made significant contributions to the social and intellectual advancement process of Kyrgyzstan by fulfilling various social/public positions including the Vice-Chairman of the Federation of Business Circles of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Coordinator, Advisory group of Secretariat of the Anti-Corruption Network for Economies in Transition (ACN) at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Ambassador Omuraliev was presented the award "Most Successful Ambassador of 2021" in 2022, "Chingiz Aitmatov" Medal of TURKSOY in 2020, "75th Anniversary Medal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic" in 2019, "Special Medal of the Chingiz Aitmatov International Club" in 2018, "the Certificate of Honor of the Commonwealth of Independent States" in 2017, and the "Certificate of Honor of the Kyrgyz Republic" in 2006.
Bringing over 25 years of diplomatic experience, the new Secretary General has pledged to continue driving our Organization to be innovative and increasingly pertinent for Member and Observer States, better positioning all of us to embrace our fraternal bonds and make progress on achieving common goals set forth by the Turkic Vision 2040.
There will be a hand-over ceremony on 14 November 2022 where the new Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev will take over the post from his predecessor Baghdad Amreyev at the OTS Headquarters in Istanbul.
