The most terrible and bloody battle of the world that took place 73 years ago brought sadness and sorrow to every family that lived at that time and caused thousands of innocent people to lose their lives.
Over 3 million people from Turkic Council Member States Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as well as from the other brotherly Turkic countries were conscripted as soldiers in this dreadful struggle against Nazism and almost half of these conscripts never returned from the frontline.
Today, the Victory Day over the Nazi forces remains as one the most important and touching holidays in our countries and those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom, independence and our bright future are always praised with gratitude.
I avail myself of this occasion to celebrate veterans from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as well as from the other brotherly Turkic countries who defended our homelands and rebuilt our countries for the sake of peace and happiness of the future generations. I also would like to commemorate all the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives in this cruel war with respect and mercy, and wish peace, happiness and prosperity to the Turkic World.
