The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Turkic Council Member States came together on 26 September 2015 in New York.
The Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Turkic Council was hosted by the current Term Chairman of the Turkic Council Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov at the premises of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations on 26 September 2015.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaye, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of the Republic of Turkey Feridun Sinirlioğlu, as well as the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov took part in the meeting which was held in the framework of the United Nations 70th General Assembly. At the breakfast meeting, the parties primarily discussed the further actions to be taken to obtain the observer status for the Turkic Council to the UN General Assembly.
In addition, the Secretary General Hasanov gave information to the Foreign Minister about ongoing cooperation with international organizations such as the UN, OIC, ECO, OSCE and Istanbul Process for Afghanistan.
The Foreign Ministers of the Member States exchanges views on the cooperation with the international organizations and on the road map regarding the future activities of the Council.
In the framework of the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of the Member States also assessed the issues that could be carried out in coordination, on a multilateral rather than bilateral platform.
After the breakfast, the parties also discussed the general issues regarding the Turkic Council and the affiliated organization of the Council.
The Project Directors Ali Çiviler and Yedil Myrzakhanov, as well as the Head of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied the Secretary General Hasanov at the meeting.
