The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bishkek, Cengiz Kamil Firat, visited Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov in his office on 7 December 2017. At the meeting, a general assessment of the projects and activities of the Turkic Council was made and the parties agreed to cooperate for the realization of the activities to be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2018.
Ambassador Fırat said that in addition to the promotion of bilateral relations between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, he will also make efforts to increase cooperation and coordination among the member countries of the Turkic Council. He also stated that joint activities could be organized for Kyrgyzstan, which has become an increasingly rising route for trade between China and Europe, to join the Middle Corridor. He underlined that joint academic activities with the Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University, a member of the Turkic Universities Union, would enhance the Council`s visibility.
Secretary General Hasanov, thanked Ambassador Fırat for his kind visit just before he started his new post and congratulated him on his new assignment and wished him success. Secretary General Hasanov also shared with Ambassador Fırat his views on recent developments in Central Asia.
Ambassador Fırat, indicated that he closely follows the activities of the Turkic Council and informed that he would be pleased to support the work of the Council.
Secretary General Hasanov was accompanied by Project Director Ali Çiviler during the meeting.
