The opening ceremony of the Turkic Council Second International Youth Camp, under the theme of “Common Culture, Common Future and Young Leaders” co-organized by the Turkic Council and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, was held on 14 August 2017 in Antalya.
The opening ceremony of the camp, was attended by Governor of Antalya Mr. Münir Karaloğlu, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Mr. İbrahim Özekinci, Secretary General of TÜRKSOY Mr. Düsen Kaseinov, Vice-President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) of the Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Said Yusuf, and the diplomatic representatives from the Consulate Generals of the member countries and local administrative authorities. The camp will bring a total of approximately 400 young people from the Turkic Council Member States in a two-week program.
Within the scope of the opening ceremony, TURKSOY Chamber Orchestra, awarded first prize by UNESCO, took the stage and performed traditional songs and melodies from the Turkic world. Various cultural and artistic performances were also included in the program.
Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman addressed to the participants at the opening ceremony and transmited information regarding the activities undertaken by the Turkic Council especially in the field of youth and sports. He also referred to the projects planned to be implemented in the coming period.
Hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, the camp will continue with local excursions, cultural and sports activities and thematic discussions.
