Deputy Secretary-General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, which was attended by the officials from the relevant Ministries of the Member States as well as young leaders and volunteers.
Thanking the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey for the warm hospitality, Deputy Secretary-General noted that the Turkic Council achieved significant progress in the newly launched field of youth and sports. In particular, he observed that around 1000 youngsters had already taken part in the three international youth camps and two international youth festivals held under the aegis of the organization in the Member States. After briefing on the future projects of the Secretariat, he also asserted that such programs enhance ties of friendship among the youngsters in the Turkic states and help them discover similarities in each other`s culture.
The participating delegations will get acquainted with the work of the Turkish colleagues. They are also expected to reach a consensus on technical issues and coordinate standardization in the methodology of organizing the youth camps after that.
Hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey, the Turkic Council Youth Camp Workshop started on 26 July 2018 and will last until 1 August 2018.
