The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev participated in the 40th Meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY on 13 October 2023 in Shusha.

The meeting of the Permanent Council was also attended by the Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Cultures and high level government officials of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, TRNC as well as the TURKSOY Secretary General, Turkic Academy President and TURKPA Secretary General.

Addressing the meeting, Ambassador Omuraliev underlined the growing prestige of TURKSOY and its transformation into a global brand as being symbol of Turkic culture. He also expressed the hope that TURKSOY will more strengthen its activities in supporting and popularizing the Turkic cultural heritage not only in Turkic region but all over the world.

The Secretary General emphasized that the Organization of Turkic States also attaches great importance to strengthening and expanding multilateral cooperation among the Turkic States, including promoting the great cultural and historical heritage of the Turkic peoples.

He drew attention to the collaborative activities of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations as well as the recently adopted “Action Plan of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations for 2023” which includes significant directions in the field of culture.

Concluding his speech, Ambassador Omuraliev wished success and productive work to the participants of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY.
