On 2 October 2024, the participants of the 5th edition of MENA Leadership Academy, which consist of entrepreneurs, business students and technology enthusiasts and organized by the Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, visited the Organization of the Turkic States (OTS) Secretariat.
The Secretary General of the OTS, H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev welcomed the participants and informed them about the background, structure, strategic priorities, current agenda, and prospective activities of the Organization.
During the visit the OTS Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman made a presentation about the structure and historic milestones of the Organization. At his presentation Deputy Secretary General briefed the participants on the Organization’s political and main economic projects by sharing insights with the audience regarding the trade and economic potential of the Turkic countries, initiatives for economic growth and cross-border cooperation. The presentation was followed by the Q&A session.
The MENA Leadership Academy is a two-year capacity-building program which aims to increase the civil society organizations contribution to economic and social development. It also encourages youth to participate in the economic, political and civic life and local development of their countries.
