The preparatory meeting of Turkic Council Turkic University Union Orkhun Process Exchange Program, held under the direction of Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman, was hosted by Rector of Kyrgyzstan-Manas University (Manas University) Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balcı on 6 April 2017 in Bishkek.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the activities of Manas University during its Chairmanship at the Union. Besides this, information on the outcomes of the research done by the Council regarding the compliance of the exchange program within the Orkhun Process was provided to the attendees.
In the course of the meeting, the parties also discussed the organization issues of the First Sports Games of the Turkic University Union. It was decided that the Games will be hosted by Manas University on 15-19 May 2017 in Bishkek.
Bilateral protocols on the Orkhun Exchange Program were signed among the member universities of the Turkic University Union at the end of the meeting. The parties signed on the Regulation on the Pilot Project of the Turkic Council Turkic University Union Orkhun Exchange Program as well.
Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov attended the signing ceremony and thanked the Vice Rectors and experts of member universities of the Union. He also expressed gratitude to Manas University for its hospitality.
