Within the context of the second fam trip of the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package, the delagation comprising journalists from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Germany, Qatar, Austria, Belgium, Italy and Spain, together with the tour operators from Singapore, Poland, Germany and Austria visited Turkestan, one of the important historical turning points along the traditional Silk Road.
The delegation visited Hodja Ahmet Yesevi Tomb in Turkistan, which is the cultural capital of the Turkic World in 2017, and then visited the historic city of Otrar. The official delegation made the opening of Alash Ethno Village which was prepared for this visit by the Southern Kazakhstan Tourism Information Office. In the village, the delegation got acquainted with the Kazakh tradition and customs and had dinner in the special tent called Yurt.
The delegation then moved to another Silk Road city of Kazakhstan, Shymkent, and attended a press conference hosted by Shymkent Rixos Hotel, which is among the sponsors of the second fam trip, on the morning of 22 May 2017. Describing the importance of the Tour and sharing their impressions of the project, the members of the delegation agreed that the Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package is ready to welcome many tourists in the coming period.
After visiting Ayşe Bibi Tomb and tour of Taraz city, which has an important place on the historical Silk Road, the members of the delegation then moved to Kyrgyzstan which is the next and final leg of the fam trip.
