The meeting was inaugurated by the opening statements of the Minister of Transport, Communication and High Technologies of Azerbaijan HE. Ramin Guluzade, Director General of Baku International Sea Trade Port Dr. Taleh Ziyadov and Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman. The Ambassadors of the member states based in Baku were also present at the meeting.

Touching upon the latest developments in transport sector along the China-Europe direction, Parties in their statements emphasized the importance of creating necessary transport infrastructure for trade facilitation and future projects in the Trans-Caspian transport route.

The meeting continued by the presentations of the Heads of Ports and a lively discussions among the port officials, representatives of critical transport institutions such as Azerbaijan Customs Administration, Transit Şura, CASPAR, Railways Authority, as well as participants from private sector on the ways to enhance cooperation among the sister ports and to facilitate transport operations along the Trans-Caspian Corridor.

To streamline efficient cooperation, Parties agreed to establish a technical group comprising the officials from the ports and the Turkic Council Secretariat. At the end of the meeting, the delegations visited the Baku International Sea Trade Port in Alat to observe the capacity of the newly built port as well as the ongoing construction efforts.

The next meeting of the sister ports of the Turkic Council will be held in Aktau Port.
