In his capacity as the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev made his first official visit to Ankara to have bilateral meetings with high-level Turkish authorities. Within this context, Ambassador Amreyev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on 12 September 2018 in Ankara.
Secretary General Amreyev conveyed his heartfelt thanks to Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu for the continuous support the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey provided to the Turkic Council.
During the meeting, Secretary General Amreyev gave comprehensive information to Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu about the activities of the Turkic Council since its establishment and referred to the planned work schedule of the organization for the upcoming period, which includes the preparation of the Concept Paper to reform the institutions and bodies of the Turkic cooperation. Secretary General Amreyev also brought some logistical and operational issues of the Secretariat to the attention of the Foreign Minister.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu congratulated Secretary General Amreyev with his new post and wished success during his tenure. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu thanked the Secretary General for the information he provided and underlined the strategic importance his Ministry attaches to the Turkic Council. Minister Çavuşoğlu also reiterated their commitment to support the Turkic Council in all its activities.
At the end of the meeting, Secretary General Amreyev presented a plaque to Minister Çavuşoğlu in memory of the visit.
Secretary General Amreyev was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and the Project Director Asan Mazhitov during the visit.
