The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov came together with the Permanent Representatives of the Turkic Council Member States to the United Nations (UN) on 24 September 2015 in New York.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Kazakhstan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), as the Chairmanship of the Turkic Council passed to the Kazakhstani side at the Fifth Summit of Heads of State of the Turkic Council on 11 September 2015 in Astana. The participants of the meeting were the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Hüsniye Mammadova, Kazakhstan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Nuran Niyazaliyev, as well as Turkey’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Levent Eler.
The parties discussed the ongoing preparations for the Turkic Council to gain the observer status at the United Nations General Assembly. The sides exchanged information regarding the steps to be taken thereafter to obtain the said observer status and decided to convey the issue to the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Turkic Council Member States who on their visits to New York are going to participate at the UN General Assembly.
The Secretary General Hasanov and the Permanent Representatives of the Member States also discussed other issues on the agenda of the Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Turkic Council to be held on 26 September 2015 in New York and general preparations to for the said meeting.
The Project Directors Ali Çiviler and Yedil Myrzakhanov, as well as the Head of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied the Secretary General at the said meeting.
