The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov has attended the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Ministers (COM) of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on 28 February 2017 in Islamabad, Pakistan.
High level delegations of the ECO member states, including the delegations from the Turkic Council Member States, are participating in the meeting.
In his speech during the opening ceremony of the meeting, Secretary General Hasanov pointed to the importance of security and stability for the economic development of the region. He also mentioned some of the concrete projects implemented within the Turkic Council in the fields of economy, transport, customs, education, tourism and media. He concluded that the enhanced cooperation between the Turkic Council and the ECO would contribute to the economic prosperity of the region.
Secretary General Hasanov is accompanied by Project Directors Farid Damirli and Mehmet Sefik Yurtcicek and the Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul.
The delegation of the Turkic Council headed by Secretary General Hasanov will also participate in the 13th ECO Summit on 1 March 2017.
